Coming up In November 2023 Art Club

Something that I have been thinking about a lot recently is connection. Making art that really connects with you, that shows who you are as an artist. If art is an expression of who we are, then how do we take that next step into making meaningful art?

Well, in our November Art Club we are going to focus on exploring that, on what connections you want to make, how to find them and how to turn them into art. I have put together some project-lead exercises to help you to find and make your connections, to build your confidence in your unique art language to help you to tell your story.

And we will be kicking it off with the November Welcome video, for all the paid tiers, where you will get to start digging into the connections you want to explore in your art with an exercise to help you find them.

Journal Club

Then for all Journal Clubbies and Studio Clubbies let’s start exploring the connections that resonate with you and see how we can turn them into art. And for this I am sharing how I take abstract layers and turn them into a finished piece with a focal image that tells the story I want it to tell.

In The Studio

As we move into the studio for all Studio Clubbies tiers, you will get to dig a little deeper into your connections and exploring what resonates with you and working out how to turn that into art.

And I have exercises for you to help you to find your unconscious connections through intuitive, organic abstracts. As well as turning them into finished pieces you love too. So you will get to explore different ways of teasing out what resonates with you and what is important to you as you build up your connection to your art.

I think that when you start to art you are trying to work out how everything works. How the materials work, how to make art you like and as you grow you are putting down building blocks to help you express what you want to express. But at the start you might not yet know what that is exactly. You might be lucky and it is completely clear to you, but I know for me it wasn’t and it has taken me time to get where I am now.

So even if you a completely new to art, I think it is a good thing to also work on yourself, your connections and start the process of finding what it is you want to express in your art. It is all part of you as an artist and your voice and it is an ongoing and evolving process, which I also think is part of the fun of it! So I do hope you will join me as we dig into it a little more in November.

I am also excited to share the November download with you if you are a Studio or Studio PLUS Clubbie. This month the download is a mix of forest flavours with owls, foxes, mushrooms and leaves. All in a rich pinky red and yellow colourway with hints of blues and greens too.

I look forward to seeing how you use it and will of course be back nearer the end of November with my take on ideas to help you use it.
