Coming Up In January 2024 Art Club
As we say goodbye to 2023 and hello to 2024 it’s also hello to a new Art Club month here and we are going to take a transitional approach to January. I have some projects that you may have seen the results of but I haven’t yet shared how I did them, so it is mix of old and new. I feel that is fitting as we take what we learnt from the year passing and bring it in to the new year with us, to fuel our learning for the new year. January is a month of transitions after all and that is where we will focus in art club.
I am looking forward to 2024 and improving our art together this year so I hope you will join me! So let’s have a look at what is in store for January.
We will kick off the new year with a week’s worth of prompt ideas and then the Welcome video, where I will talk you through the projects and download, before we get started with our first art club creative exercise for the year. The prompts are available to everyone, paid or free and the video is available on for all paid tiers.
Next, the download will be up on all download tiers (Studio Clubbies, Studio PLUS Clubbies, Digi-Delightfuls and Video-Fanatics) on the 3rd January 2024. Then it is off to the first Journal Club of the year later in the week.
Journal Club
I thought what better way to start this year than with ideas to just get you filling your art journals. So I have a group of ideas ranging from doodles, drawing, collage and painting that are really about playing and getting you up and running for your art new year! You can play with them all, or pick one or two to work up into bigger ideas, it is quite flexible so I hope you have fun with them!
These will be available at the end of the first week in January for Journal Clubbies, all three Studio Clubbies and the founder member Video-Fanatics tiers.
In The Studio
In the second and third weeks of January you can join me ‘In The Studio‘ as we go into more depth with our work. And we are starting January with a bit of colour play.
I have some exercises for playing with your materials and focusing on a limited colour palette. And we are going to see where that takes us. I’ve picked primary colours as my limited colour palette and we are going to do some scribbling and drawing to play and explore.
Then as we move into the second ‘In The Studio‘ session in the third week of January we will be taking scribbling and drawing a little bit further to make some focal image studies. I’ve picked crows and puffins for mine and we will loosen up our drawing angst with some no-fear scribbling of puffins then explore black in our crow!
In The Studio is available to all Studio Clubbies and the founder member Video-Fanatics tiers. It’s going to be a lot of fun and I am looking forward to arting with you.
January 2024 Art Download
This month to say thank you for being here and to celebrate the new art year I actually have four pages for you to play with in the download. So the download is available on all the download tiers which are: Studio and Studio PLUS Clubbies, Video-Fanatics and Digi-Delightfuls.
