Happy Saturday! I have a quick inspiration video to get you inspired and ready to create this weekend! It is all part of my Floral June theme here and on Patreon. So today is a little reminder to not forget your test pieces and scraps of paper. They might make fun art pieces too!
Don’t forget to share your flower and floral artwork using the hashtag #KimDellowFloralJune over on Instagram and tag me in so that I can come and see your projects!
And I also have some floral creative exercises and more mixed media floral ideas over on the Art Explorer or a Process Addict tiers on Patreon so join me there! (Not sure what Patreon is then watch this short video explainer!)
I have been doodling quite a lot recently in my videos haven’t I? I’ve doodled with all sorts of different materials, you can see me doodle with acrylic paint and soft pastels or watercolors and ink in my last two videos. This week I am also doodling and I have a new doodle creative exercise to share with you that I am calling Paper Doodle!
The Paper Doodle is all about making patterns and doodles with paper collage but it isn’t ordinary collage as I will explain in this video. It is super simple to do and a great way to use up old papers. So watch the video, then have a play and share the results with me on social media as I would love to see them and all my links are at the end of this post.
I have an organic, or intuitive piece for you today and really it is one of my explorations into pattern and mark making as I try to build a page with minimal layers. But you can hear more about it in the video. It is all acrylics but I will call it mixed media anyway because I am using different types of acrylics, so I can maybe just about get away with calling it mixed media what do you think?
Check the list below for the colors and products that I used and of course there is a close-up photo at the end of the page for you! Have fun with your minimal layers!
I am working on another bleed through page in my junk journal this week. It follows on directly from my video last week when I worked on the bleed through page opposite to today’s page. I mean bleed through happens and you can either leave it, cover it or roll with it can’t you? So this week what do I do? You can see the whole process of what I do in my video and I hope it gives you some inspiration for your bleed through pages!
As always there is a close-up photo of the finished page below and the supplies list too!
Welcome to the my second Inktober doodles sketchbook tour! I’ve started where we left off last time in the first part of my 2018 Inktober doodles sketchbook tour video. So we start on Day 11 for this one, oh and the first part came with a pep talk too if you missed it! I hope you managed to keep up with this challenge, of with whatever challenge you have been taking part in. It is not easy is it?!
But I do think it is worth it. I was happy that I got to the end and managed to post one of my Inktober doodles everyday on Instagram and I hope to keep the daily Instagram posting momentum going even now that Inktober is over. Really that was the main goal for me, as well as just giving myself permission to experiment with my doodle patterns and mark making.
Scroll on down to see the video and to see what supplies I used for my Inktober doodles.
If you enjoyed that and want some more ideas then watch my Pen and Line playlist of videos, it starts with part 1 of my Inktober sketchbook tour and is full of ideas for your art journal and mixed media projects.
