Welcome to your ‘Layer With Me’ video and it is here as a big thank you to you for getting me to . You voted for it and it is finally here! So I hope you enjoy it. Remember to watch it through, then bookmark the video to work through the layers at your own speed, pausing when you need to!
So the idea of my ‘Layer With Me’ videos, both this one and the first one I did, is that you can make your own piece with me. I go through each step and you can follow along then pause as you need to to finish each layer. If you are new to mixed media art it is a great way to build up confidence. And if you are a bit further along then you can change it up as you like and I have some tips and ideas on how as we go through.
Then when you have done your project, link me up to the finished piece on social media and my links are all below. For quick reference I am @kimdellow on most things including Instagram in case you didn’t know.

VIDEO: Layer With Me Step By Step

Use mixed media paper, a heavy weight paper that can take layers, or use a canvas or a canvas board. I used:
Strathmore Mixed media journal (9″ x 12″)
patterned paper or old book pages
You can use any acrylic paint you have, I used a mix of different brands.
Sennelier Abstract Acrylic paint (Cad. Yellow Lemon Hue, Cad. Red Deep Hue, Deep Magenta, Purple)
Amsterdam Standard Acrylic Paint (Quinacridone Rose Light, Nickel Titan. Yellow, Pyrrole Red, Sap Green, Burnt Umber)
Amsterdam Acrylic Paint nozzles
Daler-Rowney System 3 Paint (Titanium White)
Daler-Rowney System 3 brushes (round brush or filberts, small to medium sizes)
Golden Regular gel (Gloss) or use matte medium
Paint pens – use any that you have. I used a few different ones.
Derwent Paint pen
Molotow One4All Paint Pens (Signal Black 1mm)
Sharpie Paint pen (waterbased)
Use a stencil or stamping or
Punchinella and use with inks or high flow acrylics.
Dope Dripper 10mm
Golden High Flow Acrylic Ink And Marker Set (Used in the dripper bottle)

water spray
palette
