Finding Your Textures
Hey Amazing Artist,
This month will find you playing with some more with birds in Art Club. I have some projects coming up for you with feathers, birds, nests and eggs all part of the mix. So let’s take a bird’s-eye view at what is coming up! (Did you see what I did there?!)
Journal Club

Explore your muted colours and take inspiration from the random things that you collect! I have a page process showing you how to build up scribble layers and make some loose playful sketches to turn into focal images.

Want to go deeper and find more ways that you can add colour texture to your pages? Then this month’s Art Club is for you. Grab your water-reactive colour crayons and blocks as you will be playing with them a lot this month.
Don’t worry if you don’t have any, you can also use watercolour paints and pencils, even inks and water-reactive pens could be substituted, and you might want to try those out too if you have them.
This month I am going to show you some ways to add texture to your pieces that maybe you haven’t thought about!

Now don’t forget your new printable art pack for the month too and that will be up for you to download and play with in the first week of April. Of course it is a little bird-themed! And I will be back later in the month with some inspiration to get you playing.
One last thing, each month I greet you with a ‘Welcome to the Month’ video with a run down of what we will be up to in Art Club and a little project too and this month I thought we could explore ways to make your own stylised birds for the projects this month, so I will see you then!
I am looking forward to exploring colour texture and birds with you in the April 2023 Art Club!
