VIDEO: How To Use Your Brush To Add Texture

Purple and red painted traveller's journal page by Kim Dellow

One of the things that I have been playing around with and experimenting with a lot recently is simple ways to add texture with a brush to my mixed media and acrylic painting projects. It is like brush mark making 101 but it is super fun and well worth trying if you are a newbie or revisiting if you are more experienced in your art. So today I am sharing a mixed media page process video with some tips and ideas on brush textures and mark making to get you in the mood to start experimenting with brush strokes yourself.

As usual I have the products I have used below the video and then a close-up picture of the page below that, so just scroll on down to see. I am in a Traveller’s notebook today, it isn’t even acrylic paper or heavy weight but it seemed to stand up to several paint layers and other medium over the top too!
