All Dressed Up

What is this? Another card that has nothing to do with Christmas? Mmm, there must be something wrong with me. Emma from Sassy Crafts sent me some Dream Street Papers to play around with – I hadn’t come across them before but now that I have I really like them. She also has a sale on the papers this week so go check them out. So what do you think of this classy lady? She makes me think of a little girl dressing in her mummy’s shoes.

BTW there is still time to join in the fun over at Friday Sketchers, which this week is being sponsored by Sassy Crafts and there is a gorgeous Sarah Kay stamp, papers and ribbons up for grabs – Fab!

Papers – Dream Street Papers
Stamp – Stampabilities Happy Hopper
Colouring – Prismacolor pencils and sansodor
Ink – VersaFine Onyx Black
Usual Suspects – Trimmer; double-sided tape; glue dots
Other – Glitter glue; Cuttlebug and embossing folder; Pearlescent hearts

Birthday Wishes

A birthday card for you today, a slight tangent from Christmas cards and thank you cards, but don’t worry I still have a lot more to do! This cutey is for a man and uses the BasicGrey Wassail papers from Sassy Crafts. I’ve coloured him in with Tim Holtz Distress inks and some 3D-glue on the nose (don’t think you can see that in the photo). To finish the card I used wire, ribbon and a crystal brad from my stash but Emma also stocks crystal brads.

Stamp – Whipper Snapper
Paper – BasicGrey Wassail
Ink – Versafine Onyx Black
Colouring – Tim Holtz Distress inks
Usual suspects – Trimmer; Scissors; Glue dots; Double-sided tape; Computer and printer
Other – Brads; Ribbon; 3D-glue; wire; Cuttlebug and tag die

Friday Sketchers Christmas

A simple card for you today, using the fab sketch from Friday Sketchers. I’ve used the BasicGrey Wassail (ah, BasicGrey) from Sassy Crafts with a bit of stitching and a bit of distressing. The holly berries are needle felted.

It was fun to get my sewing machine out. I always feel really happy in front of my sewing machine for some reason – weird, I know!

Papers – Basic Grey Wassail from Sassy Crafts; Dovecraft Victorian Christmas
Stamp – Papermania
Inks – VersaMark
Usual Suspects – Trimmer; Scissors; Double-sided tape; Silicon Glue
Other – Needle; Brads; Wool top; Embroidery thread; Sewing machine; Ribbon; Copper embossing powder

Christmas Decorations

So as a break from Christmas cards I have made some tree decorations with me new stash from Sassy Crafts (thanks, Emma). Well, I just had to get stuck in now, didn’t I? These ornaments use papers from the yummy Winter Matchstack from DCWV, and if you follow the link you will see that these papers are on sale. Well, you can’t say better than that now can you?

Papers – DCWV Winter Matchstack from Sassy Crafts
Ink – Rangers Distress inks Dusty Concord and Faded jeans
Usual Suspects – Scissors; Glue dots
Other – brads; silver elastic

Sassy Crafts DT Call – Round Two

I got through to the second round of the Sassy Crafts DT call. How cool is that? So the next challenge is to make a project without using any ready-made embellishments of any sort. So, for example, you can not use ribbon unless it is to turn into an embellishment. Mmm – interesting!

I think I went a little mad and decided to do a little embroidery. So the sentiment is stitched onto card and the edges distressed then covered with crackle accents glue. The flowers were cut from the papers, edges distressed and then the centre is an embroidery knot. Just had to stitch a swirl in chain stitch and a buttonhole – a desire to put a buttonhole on a card had just overtaken me 🙂 The two mini-buttons are also cut from the papers, edges distressed and covered again with crackle accents.

Papers – K&Co. Classic K Bailey, McKenna and Life’s Journey
Inks – Distress inks Walnut Stain; Tea Dye
Other – Embroidery thread; Needle; Pin; Inssentials Crackle Accents; White hammered card; silicon glue; Scissors; Paper trimmer; Cut-N-Dry Foam

Sassy Crafts DT Call

I thought I might have a go at the DT call going on for Sassy Crafts. The challenge is to make three projects as outlined on the Sassy Crafts blog:

1 – A stamped project:
A new Christmas card for you.

Stamp – Sugar Nellie; HOTP
Papers – Basic Grey; note paper
Colouring – Derwent pencils and sansodor
Ink – Versafine Onyx Black; Adirondack Rust
Other – Glitter glue; Fimo clay; brads; Flower soft

2 – A favourite piece
It is difficult to pick a favourite piece, my thoughts change daily on the matter! But here is one I made a few months ago. I love how the embossing works on the designer paper and highlighted with inks. Then there was the fun I had with the flower, wire, tab and beads as well.

Stamp – Sarah Kay; HOTP
Colouring – Letroset Promarkers
Ink – VersaFine Onyx Black; VersaColor pink; Distress ink Walnut Stain
Papers – BasicGrey Sultry
Equipment – Cuttlebug and embossing folders; Crop-a-dile
Other – Beads; eyelet; metallic thread; wire

3 – A project that contains 4 squares, 3 small and 1 large
And not that I’m getting Christmas obsessed or anything, but here is another Christmas card 🙂

Papers – BasicGrey Mellow; 7Gypsies
Inks – Distress Inks Walnut Stain, fired brick; tea dye; peeled paint
Other – Shapes designed by me; Cardboard; Seam ripper
