When Inspiration Calls

Something slightly different for you today – a scribble book for when you get that hit of inspiration.

I’ve painted the covers with acrylic paints and a touch of varnish then decorated the front with BasicGrey papers from the Ambrosia collection, added a fab large felt flower and some distressed circles and a brad. The letters have been ‘blinged’ with glitter glue and I’ve added a small matching paper charm on a ribbon.

The book itself was put together using the fab Bind-It-All which I love to bits 🙂

If you feel inspired, pop over to Sassy Crafts to get what you need.

Talking about notebooks take a look at this yummy notebook from Wendy over at Paper Therapy.

Papers – BasicGrey
Inks – Tim Holtz Distress inks
Usual Suspects – Double-sided tape; Paper trimmer
Other – Fun felt venti daisy; Brad; Zutter Bind It All, Wires and covers; Acrylic paints; varnish; Ribbon; Glitter glue; Cuttlebug; QuickKutz Sophisticate Alphabet

It Is Hot On The Savanna

These look like happy lions, don’t you think? They are from Alota Stamps over at Sassy Crafts and it is a birthday card for a friend who likes his safaris. The papers are good old BasicGrey from the Off Beat collection and the buttons are from my favourite Buttons Galore. I don’t know what it is with me and buttons at the moment I am just besotted with them 🙂 A bit of distressing and a bit of sewing to finish the look.

I had started this card a couple of weeks ago and then set it to one side to finish later and completely forgot about it! Bless me! I only found it again after a bit of a tidy. I wonder what other projects I have half-finished dotted about the place? Maybe I need to do a big sort out? Mmm?

Materials:
Stamp – Atota Rubber Stamp
Colouring – Prismacolor; Caran D’ache; Sansodor
Papers – BasicGrey OffBeat
Usual suspects – Silicone Glue; Paper trimmer
Other – Buttons; Sewing Machine; Seam ripper

Is It Spring Yet?

It is very sunny here, no snow, although we did have a sprinkling last night. So again I’m looking forward to the spring time with the lovely Two Scoops papers from BasicGrey. I think the colours in this paper pack just scream spring to me.

The stamped image is the Country Girl Standing with Flowers from Alota and I’ve coloured her with some prismacolor pencils and Caran D’Ache pencils.

The ribbon slider is an acrylic blank that I’ve stamped onto with StazOn and painted with green, pink and white acrylic paints.

Stamp – Alota Rubber stamps; Stampendous
Inks – Stazon; Colourbox chalk
Colouring – Prismacolor; Caran D’Ache; Sansodor

Last-Minute Christmas Card

A quick and easy Christmas card that has been totally inspired by the wonderful cards Emma has made, if you have a minute go take a look. This one uses those leftover scraps of your BasicGrey Wassail papers with the smallest bit of distressing and a little bit of fun flock, but you could use your snow writers or glitter or even a bit of fibres or ribbons.

Wish me luck, I’m off to Ikea. I have searched high and low through the streets of London for some basic kitchen equipment and utensils and could I find any? It seems the simple basics have disappeared from the high streets of London and all you can get is your £30 for a single teaspoon, high-end stuff, probably made by the lesser-spotted, highly trained kitchen elf who only makes one teaspoon a year then takes a year off. OK, perhaps I exaggerate. Slightly 🙂

Just to add: The stockings were hand-cut using a sketched template.

Materials:
Papers – BasicGrey Wassail
Stamp – Papermania
Ink – Ranger’s Distress inks; VersaFine Onyx Black
Usual Suspects – Paper Trimmer; Scissors; Silicone glue; Glue dots
Other – Fun flock
