Friday Sketchers Christmas

A simple card for you today, using the fab sketch from Friday Sketchers. I’ve used the BasicGrey Wassail (ah, BasicGrey) from Sassy Crafts with a bit of stitching and a bit of distressing. The holly berries are needle felted.

It was fun to get my sewing machine out. I always feel really happy in front of my sewing machine for some reason – weird, I know!

No layering for Stamp Something Challenge

A quick post before I go off to my Embroidery Group Therapy – Hello, my name is Kim and I am a recovering embroiderer 🙂

So today’s card is for the challenge over at Stamp Something and this week it is all about being simple, and you don’t get much more simple than me 😉

The simple they are talking about is only using one layer of cardstock. So this card is stamped and coloured directly onto the card. I’ve used fun flock and glitter to highlight areas, which you might just be able to see in the close-up. The stamps were actually freebies from a magazine (can’t remember which now – please forgive me) coloured with watercolours.

Materials:
Stamps – Freebies from a UK magazine
Colouring – Koh-i-nor watercolours
Usual Suspects – Er…white cardstock; trimmer; Ruler; Glue pen
Other – Glitter glues; Fun Flock; Black Fine marker pen; White galaxy marker pen

Teehee. Off to make some more Christmas cards – mmm, what stamp should I use…?

EDIT: I’ve had a surprise comment on this card from Melissa of Pink Cat Studio Fame – I think she must have seen how obsessed I am with her stamps and has asked to put this card into the Pink Cat Studio Gallery 🙂 How exciting is that? Thank you, Melissa 🙂

Another Kaboodle Doodle Chrimbo Card

Well, after doing yesterday’s Kaboodle Doodle Challenge card, I just kept going and here is another Christmas card using the Kaboodle Doodle Merry and Bright kit. Great fun getting covered in glitter putting this card together. I used double-sided tape and loose glitter; if you have ever done that, you will know that the glitter just gets everywhere. I am now finding it in various rooms around the flat.

Papers – Kaboodle Doodle Merry and Bright Kit
Usual Suspects – Double-sided tape; 3D-foam pads; Glue dots; Trimmer
Other – Glitter; Brads; Ribbon
