October Is Breast Cancer Care Awareness Month

So bring out the Pink Shimmerz paints! Make anything with your Pink Shimmerz this month, post it in the Shimmerz Paints Flickr group and you could win a pot of Shimmerz.

When you post it in Flickr let us know which Shimmerz you have used and tag it Pink! Each of the DT will be picking their favourite so there are lots of chances to win.

But whilst you are at it don’t forget to post it on your blog to spread the word about Breast Cancer Care Awareness Month 🙂

I have a pink card for you today, it uses a bit of the My Mind’s Eye Laundry Line paper, Prima Crystals and a touch of sewing.

I’ve used my Shimmerz Spritz to make the background paper and the flower.

I sprayed card with Bed of Roses and let it dry. I then sprayed a new sheet of card with Licorice Spritz and used a brayer wrapped in rubber bands to ‘score’ patterns in the Licorice covered card and transfer the Licorice colour in rough lines to the Bed of Roses covered card (you might have to click on the photo to see the full effect).

Then I cut out flower shapes from this card and distressed it to make a flower.

The brad in the middle is a large crystal gem brad that was a touch too bright so I dipped it into Shimmerz paints Coal and carefully wiped most of it off so that it just left a ‘smoked’ gem effect.

The cute Paper MakeUp Stamp Shaela Fairy was coloured with Copic markers and the wings painted with Shimmerz Paints Flashee Fushia Blingz and Angel Wings (also available from Quixotic Paperie).

I can’t wait to see your Breast Cancer Care Awareness makes

Paige is the neighbour of Whimsy Stamps DT member Erin Bailey who is hosting a card drive on her blog to raise funds as well.

Autumn Leaves

Autumn has arrived here in London and I have an autumnal card for you with a boy twist 🙂 I’ve used the lovely Whiff Of Joy Oakley With Wooden Sign stamp and cheated a bit because he is actually from the Summer 2009 Kit…but I wont tell anyone if you don’t?

The papers are K&Co Ancestry with a touch of distressing here and there helped with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. I’ve also used some fibres which I think I might actually have got from ripping up an old piece of fabric LOL!

I used a mix of Prismacolor, Koh-I-Noor and Derwent pencils to colour him.

Then added a bit of detail to the woodware punch and embossed leaves with my Shimmerz Paints Spiced Cider Blingz and Choc-o-lot. The apple charm is from Quixotic Paperie.

Elaine had the brilliant idea of colouring the charms with Shimmerz paints (Clever!). I’ve also used a bit of Rub and Buff on the charm, which has given it a bit of a rough texture, don’t you think?

But before I go just thought I would mention that the pre-order for the Autumn Belles and Whistles Stamps opens tomorrow at Quixotic Paperie and they are beautiful. So to celebrate, starting today for a limited time only, there is 20% off of the current Belles and Whistles stock!

But not only that, there are the new lines of Prima bits and pieces in store now – pearls, flowers, the new economy line all just gorgeous, you will just want! I know I do! LOL!

Have an Autumn Gorgeous Day

At A Snail’s Pace…

Good Morning. I don’t know why, but I woke up at 5.40am this morning so I reckon that to today is going to be somewhat leisurely!

Wanted to show you all a card I did for the Shimmerz Paints and Paper Popsicle swap recently. If you missed it (the swap that is!) you can drop by the Shimmerz blog to see all the wonderful DT makes.

And I did add a bit of sparkle to the little snail and the notepaper with Shimmerz Under The Sea Blingz

While we is on the subject of Shimmerz 🙂 I’ve got a little hints and tips guide up at Quixotic Paperie for using Spritz. (If you click on the photo below you can see the sparkle on the lace).
