Autumn Cards

I do love autumn colours. I love all the seasons’ colours when it comes down to it but it is particularly fun to work in autumn colours isn’t it? So here is an autumn card for a friend whose birthday is in September and I’ve entered it for this week’s Stamp Something challenge.

What is your favourite season for colours?

Kaboodle Doodles Second Challenge

It’s Sunday and challenge posting day for Kaboodle Doodle. To celebrate the first challenge and all the beautiful entries with the free download, Andrea has decided to reward everyone who entered with a paper download of their choice – wahoo 🙂 Isn’t she lovely?

Go check out Kaboodle Doodle’s second challenge over on the challenge blog. This week the theme is spots – your creation needs to encompass spots somewhere in the design. This challenge will run for a week and the winner, drawn by a random number generator, will get a free download 🙂 Well worth joining in.

Can’t See The Wood For The Trees

I’ve never tried free machine embroidery before, not a whole project – I’ve played around with stitching but never actually made something. Well, that is until now. The project came from Stitch Magazine issue 49 and was written by Tracy Curtis – the instructions were really easy to follow and inspired me to give it a go. So here is my first attempt at free machine embroidery and it was really fun to do – thanks, Tracy.

I’ve yet to frame the piece but I thought I’d blog it anyway. It is not a card – but you could make it into a card 🙂

Spreading Sunshine

Some sunshine for you all with this card using the Papertake Weekly Sketch and Designs by Krista Southern Sunrise papers. Still hanging on to the summer as best I can 🙂

The swirl was made by printing the flourish embellishment from Krista’s kit onto inkjet acetate, cutting it out and layering on top of a paper flower fixing with the brad. I like the translucent affect you get 🙂
