VIDEO: How to Stop Perfectionism Getting In The Way Of Your Art

A simple acrylic doodle by Kim Dellow, with a video chat about being perfectionism

We can put a lot of obstacles in our own way can’t we?! And one of the ones I struggle with is perfectionism. I am a perfectionist. But when it comes to my art I have learnt how to get past it and not let it hold me back from doing art. Part of what has helped me is learning to let go and I have trained myself to do this through doing more art. But it is a particular kind of art as it is no pressure art. You need to learn to give yourself permission to mess up and do it regularly and over and over!

Now I am not saying that it is easy, I would not be that glib, but if you do try out some of the tips in this video and find them helpful then I will be so happy that me sharing what I have learnt about my perfectionism has helped you too!

If perfectionism isn’t a problem for you but you know someone who does suffer from it, then please do share this video with them!

I have some more creative exercise to help you get working in my playlist.

And if you want to know more about my junk journal flyers I do have a video all about them.

If you have some good tips of controlling or managing your perfectionist tendencies I would love to hear them, so please do share.
