So maybe not, but in case you do, or in case you need a quick art infusion to inspire you I have another ‘what happened next’ art journal page process video for one of those starter pages from my ’12 Tips For Starting Art Journal Pages Using Acrylic paint’ video. Now this time I am purposely making two individual but coordinated pages, so you can see how they develop.

yes, I have Christmas today here in Germany. But of course I wouldn’t want to miss your video.
I really like how that turned out and the swirls I liked best are still visible.
Since the temperatures here are more like spring, with a lot of wind and maybe rain coming, there won’t be any mulled wine today I guess.
I do have a question for you: why are you using that Golden Regular Gel for a glue and not any sort of normal glue which would be a lot cheaper?
You enjoy your ham and surely rosted veg, I will be having potatoe salad and Bockwurst. Same procedure as every year.
Speaking of…. here is a video widely unknown in UK even being with British actors. That is shown on New Years Eve here on every channel, every year, It is a tradition now. Hope you like it

Hey Rena, Big Merry Christmas! I hope you are having a lovely day!
It is unseasonably warm here too, we were out earlier getting the meat for our roast in our local supermarket, I was wrapped up for cold weather and had to unwrap!
I’m going to do the glühwein anyway this year, because I usually forget, or run out of pans, so this year I am determined to do it even if it is tropical out there! 😀
So there are a few reasons I use the gel medium, are you sure you want to know? This may take some time! 😀 😀 So I was using this crafters PVA glue that was really good but it worked out more expensive then gel medium! Mainly because they only sold it in small pots! I know! Shocking! I had a few pots of it as I was working as a design team member for the people who made it. Then my contract finished with them and when I ran out of the glue I decided to find an alternative because it was expensive. I already had a big old pot of Golden regular gel and it is archival, which is what I wanted, and then I worked out the price gram for gram and it turned out cheaper, if you bought a big pot, than buying the crafters PVA! So I just got into the habit of using it. I have used various glues over the years, but really like the gel medium. I really could just get away with using normal glue for a lot of what I do, as you say, but as I have it, I just grab for it, I know I can trust it! When my pot runs out I will do my maths again and work out what the best thing to get is! Told you it was a long, story 😀 😀
You know what? I have seen that film! 😀 😀 But only because a good friend of mine, who is German, showed it to me! When she was living in the UK she was surprised that we had never seen it! I had never even heard of it before she showed it to me and she was gobsmacked because it was so well know in Germany, she just thought we all knew it!

I know, everybody I showed that video was surprised as really nobody in UK knows that and it is never shown in the telly, That has cult status here. And would you believe… not only I am waiting since some 50 years or so (yeah, I am really that old) that he falls over that head of that bear… even when we know he doesn’t…. It is absolutely a must-watch on New Years Eve.
You do the same as me, calculating prices, what comes cheaper than others. I was just curious because I would never had the idea of using such gel as glue. Need to look what it cost here. If it is available at all, but I have a good retailer for artist things.
And of course it is always interesting what others use and why. Everybody makes different experiences. Did you ever use Mod Podge? I have a pot but haven’t used it yet
I hardly use wet glue unless for glitter when tape won’t do or so as it tends to buckle even when dry. I do like silicon glue as that makes things three-dimensional. Since I mostly buy stuff like that when it is on offer the prices were ok. Haven’t bought anything here yet (apart from the Mod Podge), everything is still bought in UK. Gluewise… I bought some paint here and canvasses and such.
Glühwein… so you know that word LOL then you probably know Bratwurst and Bockwurst too. Which I will be having now with the potatoe salad.

I hope you had a lovely festive week, with lots of relaxing time as well. I never did make my Glühwein, so that is another year that I just didn’t get around to it! Sigh 😀 But I did manage to make some potato salad for Boxing day 😀

I have used Mod Podge and I like it. It was difficult to get in the UK for a while but I’ve seen it all over the place now. I used it to upcycle a cutlery drainer into a desk top pen holder and the pen holder is still going strong so a thumbs up for Mod Podge in my books! Let me know how you get on with it.
I used to use double-sided tape for all my cards but it turned out that I had some that wasn’t very archival, I swapped brands a few times but it is all so trial and error isn’t it? I also used silicon gel for a long time too but I now pretty much use 3D foam pads and the gel medium, and occasionally some double-sided tape if that is more suitable for the project. Like you say you just have to try and then re-access if it is worth it! And buy it on offer 😀 😀 😀
