Snapfish Printed Photo Cushions

I don’t know if you remember but back in November I tried out the Snapfish Personalised Stocking Stuffer Gifts using some of my own artwork and shared how that went with you all here on my blog. I liked it so much that I joined their affiliate program so there are affiliate links in this blog post.

Well the very day that I was trying out the Snapfish gift printing service I spotted that they now do personalised sofa cushions. ‘Oooo!’ I thought to myself, ‘that is a good idea!’ So when the guys at Snapfish asked if I would try out their photo on a cushion service I was ‘Oh yes please!’

I went with my artwork again to print onto the cushions, I thought they would be a nice touch for the daybed that I have in my studio. The cushion printing process is really simple on Snapfish and there are two sizes to choose from: 11″ x 11″, which is the size of the cream with circles cushion, and 17″ x 17″, which is the pink diamond cushion pictured above.

Both of the designs were originally art journal pages. I haven’t actually shared the cream with circles page here on my blog but there is a peek at it on my Instagram account. Here it is in full: if you check out the picture on Instagram you will see that it is a double-page spread so I needed to remove the spine using Photoshop to get this continuous piece then I extended above and below the circles, again in Photoshop, to square it off to use in Snapfish.

The pink diamond design is actually from two art journal pages, both of which I have shared here on my blog before. I took parts of the pink art journal page that I shared in my ‘How To Get Through The Chaos Jungle To The Land Of Creative Joy’ blog post and layered them, in Photoshop, onto the art journal page that I shared in March 2014. All I needed to do then was to crop the picture into a square to use in Snapfish.

As I found out with the personalised gifts back in November, there is something about seeing your own work on physical, usable objects that is quite a thrill and I think it is a great way of bringing your artwork out of your journal and getting more use out of it.

What about you? Is this something you have done before or are thinking of doing? I would love to hear your thoughts on putting your work to use beyond the pages of your art journal.

Massive thanks to Snapfish for letting me try out their personalised photo cushion service.

Kim

I've never done anything like this but after seeing how beautiful your cushions are I think I might like to give it a try.
