Thank Faces It’s Friday and time to Show Your Face!
For anyone new here this is a regular place to come and inspire, be inspired, but above all to share our portrait progress week by week. Every Friday at 10 am (BST) a new Show Your Face blog post goes live with the linky to add your blog post or online gallery picture to with any portrait work you have been doing.
Your face can be drawn, doodled, painted, stitched, be made using any materials and can be any style, all I ask is that it is your artwork. If you use templates, stencils or stamps to build the face anatomy, then they should be ones you have made yourself and not someone else’s.
Finished pieces, works in progress or retro posts (i.e. older works, not from this week) are all welcome, so come join in and spread the word on your blog/social media outlets. Use hashtag #ShowYourFace if you like!
After the fun I had with scribbles last week I had originally thought I would do another scribble face for my share this week. But what actually came into being was this lady.
She isn’t quite scribbles more like long strokes of a pen with a bit of scribble.

I really like the technique you used on your lady, Kim. I also like the surface you worked on. That face actually looks the kind that would appreciate poetry to me! There's something about her that looks imaginative yet strong too. She reminds me of the kind of illustrations on the covers of novels from the 'sixties – something by Margaret Drabble maybe? Thanks for the inspiration again and I must gather together some different surfaces to work on too. xxx
Hey Julie Ann, I love that you have given her a back story. I had not thought about it but she does look imaginative and strong and to me a bit playful too! I shall go see if I can see some Margaret Drabble book covers, I'm curious now.
She is done on a page in my junk journal and for me my junk journals are event fliers, the kind of booklets that get chucked out after the event is over. I decided to gesso around her and it worked out well I think as it almost highlights the background she was drawn on.

I find it interesting the way you incorporated the photograph into the portrait. If I were to interpret the meaning of this, it may be that his name is your words often. Blessings!

My face I've shared this week is my 1st attempt – she's a little bit allover the place but it was a quick do lol followed by colouring for hours in the early hours
